why do i need a day-of coordinator?

"The day-of coordinator is responsible for the flawless execution of the already-made plans" This article will hopefully clear up why a day-of coordinator might be the most valuable supplier on your Wedding Day.

This is a question that as you get to the end of your planning (and probably your budget!) that you might be asking yourself. Your wedding day will absolutely go ahead and still be a marvellous day without one. But, if you’re looking for those individual details, timings and touches that you’ve worked so hard on to work perfectly, I would absolutely recommend one.

“But of course she’d recommend having one, she’s a day-of coordinator!”

Yes, that’s absolutely true, I’d love to be your day-of coordinator, but more than that what I want the most for you is to have the absolute best day and just be a bride!

Think about hosting a dinner party or a birthday bash. As the host, while you enjoy the event, there’s also a lot of behind-the-scenes stress involved. The same goes for your wedding day, but on a much grander scale. If anyone ever deserved to be the Guest of Honour and not the Host, it’s on your wedding day.

Most of us have dreamt about our wedding days for years. You've spent countless hours envisioning the perfect event, from the grand ceremony to the tiniest details. With everything you’ve invested in planning, it’s crucial to ensure that your dreams are executed as you envisioned. The day itself will fly by, and while you’ll be caught up in the magic, you don’t want to be distracted by last-minute issues like ensuring the special cake knife is on the table or coordinating with vendors.

A good coordinator will work with you in the weeks leading up to your day to help you put together your run sheets and planning documents. They will help you download all of the information from your head and into theirs so they can be a perfect third-party representative of all your wishes. Essentially, they become a third-party representative of your wishes—like a wedding genie making your dreams come true.

They will also work with your vendors and venue to ensure that the final details have been communicated and, most importantly, set themselves up as the contact on the day so you can just concentrate on getting ready and drinking mimosas.

At every event I have ever managed, something always goes wrong. No matter how well you plan, there will always be something that you need to pivot on or make a decision about. Whether it’s a minor hiccup or a larger issue, having a day-of coordinator means there’s someone on hand to handle these situations. Your day-of coordinator will take care of the small decisions, but most importantly, will know when they need your input. Hopefully, you’ve both worked together closely enough in the run up to the day that your coordinator will be able to make an educated decision based on prior planning, leaving you free to immerse yourself in the joy of the day.

At My Day sorted, I will supply all of your planning documents, help walk you through them and help you download everything from your head onto a piece of paper so you don’t have to think of anything except marrying the love of your life, ripping up the dance floor and having an absolute blast. You’ve worked so hard in the lead up, I want your day to go just as well if not better than you expect.

With a day-of coordinator, you’re not just hiring someone to manage the tasks of the day; you’re investing in the peace of mind that comes with knowing that every detail is taken care of. This allows you to truly enjoy your wedding day while making lasting memories without the added stress of managing a large event. So, as you finalize your plans and budget, consider the benefits of having a day-of coordinator to ensure that your wedding day is everything you’ve dreamed it would be.
